One Last Chance to Weed
Help Us Clean Up For the Summer
Summer is almost upon us. Join your friends at Meridian Park this Sunday, June 7, for once last romp in the weeds.
We'll be back in the Fall, getting ready for the Back-to-School BBQ. Watch your mail (and email) for the date.
Thank you to everyone who has participated this year. Every little bit helps -- from a couple of weeds, to pulling out the blackberry brambles. Working together, we've made a beautiful yard for our school!

Embracing Shoreline at Meridian Park
A great big Thank You! to everyone who helped out during the Embrace Shoreline event on May 16.
Highlights included tasty burgers grilled up by the Aurora Church of the Nazarene, visiting with volunteers from the Meridian Park Neighborhood Association and great music from the Edmonds Woodway Jaxx Combo.
Thank you very much to each of these groups for your for your contributions to our community, and to this wonderful event!
PTSA Volunteer Recognition
June 9, 2009
7:00–8:30pm
Meridian Park Cafeteria
Please join us on Tuesday, June 9 for a special evening to thank all our wonderful PTSA volunteers.
All the great work the PTSA does in the school is possible only with the help of those working in the classrooms, popping corn at the Fall Carnival, selling books during the open house, and helping to plan all our organization’s fun events.

Library Funding Legislation
In April, the Washington State Legislature passed an education reform bill which includes a school librarian as a funded line item. Now comes the funding part. There is a concern about the lack of funding to support this new legislation, and whether the money needed to make this important legislation successful will be available. Click here to read an article published about the historic legislation. The links to the right take you to sites with a wealth of information on the issues concerning our schools.

Chess Club:
Meridian Park has a chess club we're all very pround of, and we need a team to lead it next year. This is a great opportunity to work with other parents on a program that benefits our school in so many ways. For more information, Kelly Martinez at 206-363-5606.
